Yale Model Congress
The task for this year's Yale Model Congress qualification is quite simple.2 minute speech about a topic of your choice.
- Please make the topic relevant to current politics.
- Specifically state your topic in resolution form (see example below)
- Clearly state whether you are pro or con.
There will then be 1 or 2 questions from veterans of Model Congress.
Example presentation:
My topic: Gay Marriage
Specific Resolution: Resolved, that the federal government pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting gay marriage.
My position: Negative.
Topic Suggestions: Affirmative Action, Marijuana, Fuel Efficiency, Alternative Energy Sources, Gay Marriage, Iraq War, Estate Tax, 10 commandments.
Presentations will take place on Tuesday, September 27. People who are accepted will be notified that night.
